Cardinia Civic Concert Band (CCCB) just returned home after their trip of a lifetime.

For the second year, the band toured Germany and the Czech Republic during April. The band performed six concerts in two weeks and spent the final week of their Europe tour sightseeing.

Highlights included performing in a palace (Schloss Lingner in Dresden), marching in the parade at the Nuremberg Folk Festival and the combined concerts with their new friends in Windwerk (Berlin), Jugendbrass (Leipzig) and Mestska Hudba Frantiska Kmocha Kolin (Kolin, CZ).

The band also enjoyed visiting the Berlin Wall, Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles, the Old City of Prague, Bach’s resting place at St Thomaskirsche in Leipzig, the medieval town of Rothenburg and the beer halls of Munich, amongst many other highlights.

Back on home soil, the band is now preparing for their annual concert, featuring guest artist Rhonda Burchmore at Bunjil Place.

With a smile that could light up the Sydney Opera House and a voice that’s as big, bold and colourful as Uluru, Rhonda Burchmore has endeared herself to the hearts of all Australians.

CCCB are thrilled to have Rhonda front the band this August.

The band is also building its numbers through the development of its intermediate band.

The intermediate band caters for beginner to AMEB grade four musicians, with members ages ranging from eight to 60.
