The state’s best performing VCE students, including two students from St Francis Xavier College, have been recognised with Premier’s VCE Awards.

Beaconsfield campus student, Juan Limbo, achieved a study score of 50 in Health and Human Development in 2019.

His teacher, Siobhan Stephenson, said the high score is a testament to the high-achiever’s dedication.

“There wasn’t a single class last year when he didn’t ask a question,” Ms Stephenson said.

“He asked questions about concepts, structures and contexts and worked diligently and at a consistently high level all year.”

Max Mallan, also from the Beaconsfield campus, received a Premier’s award for his perfect study score of 50 in Digital Media and Technology in VCE VET.

He was one of only two students in the state to be recognised for achievements in Information, Digital Media and Technology.

According to his teacher, Garrie Mendez, Mr Mallan hopes to pursue a career in the field, which amplified his motivation to succeed.

“He was always highly organised, asked a lot of questions and engaged actively in classes,” Mr Mendez said.

Education for the Diocese of Sale director, Maria Kirkwood, said she was pleased to see students within the Diocese striving to reach their full potential.

“Juan and Max are a shining example of our vision for students as engaged and successful learners who achieve their personal best, while drawing on the life-giving traditions and spirituality of the Catholic faith.”
