With the country set to celebrate National Volunteer Week next week, Cardinia Shire Council is calling on nominations for those who gave, and continue to give, their time to assist the Bunyip bushfire-affected community.

National Volunteer Week begins Monday 18 May and ends on Sunday 24 May, and through the week the council will publicly showcase five of the best nominees.

The nominees don’t have to be residents of the fire-affected area, and their work doesn’t have to have been specifically on fire/recovery-related activities – they just have to have assisted this community.

The council is asking the community: who do you know that deserves some kudos for their countless hours of volunteer work for the betterment of the community? Who has gone above and beyond to help out their neighbours?

If you know someone who has given their time to assist the community of Tonimbuk, Bunyip North, Garfield North or Tynong North, email recovery@cardinia.vic.gov.au with a short paragraph on why they deserve their nomination.

Made sure to include contact details of the nominee for the council to get in touch.
