Mount Cannibal will temporarily close.

Mount Cannibal Reserve may have only just reopened to the public from the coronavirus pandemic, but unfortunately it’s going to be closing again.

The Garfield North reserve will be closed on Tuesday 9, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 June for car park upgrade works.

Funded by Cardinia Shire Council, the works will increase the number of car parks from roughly 20 to 35 spaces.

Wheel stops will also be installed and pavement will be strengthened to prevent drainage damage. No vegetation will be removed for the works to be completed.

The reserve will open again to the public on Friday 12 June.

The reserve is currently operating as a one-way track, to allow physical distancing of 1.5 meters to continue.

Community members are reminded that at all outdoor locations, State Government regulations regarding recreation activities must be followed.
