With the weather warming up, it’s the perfect time of year to enjoy dining outdoors – and The Goon Eatery in Nar Nar Goon has the seats pulled out, ready and waiting.

Owner Jill and her partner bought the business nearly five years ago, and have worked hard to achieve their vision.

The menu is totally different to how it was under the previous owners: instead of offering hot takeaway food from a bain-marie, there are now burgers, schnitzels and wraps prepared each day for hungry visitors. A display fridge shows off fresh sandwiches, salads and rolls. A coffee machine has well and truly paid for itself, Jill says, with customers coming from Pakenham just to get their hands on a hot cup of java juice.

In keeping with its ethos, The Goon Eatery keeps everything in-town, using meat from the local butcher down the street in its dishes.

During the Covid lockdown and travel restrictions The Goon Eatery operated on a takeaway only business, but recent innovations mean customers can now sit outside in a small courtyard to enjoy their meals and drinks. A shade cloth will keep the weather out and allow for comfortable dining – right in time for the most wonderful time of the year.
