‘Legendary’ lucky win

The man plans to spend his winnings on travel.

 After a horrible 2020, a Warragul man has welcomed his $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot win with open arms, describing it as “legendary”.

The Victorian winner held the first prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10435, drawn Thursday 7 January.

When an official from The Lott called the winner to break the news of his win on the morning of Friday 8 January, he burst into uncontrollable laughter.

“Righto!” he laughed.

“Alright, alright! You have my attention now. I am very intrigued now. I am curious about this. Are you serious?” the man continued.

“Wow this is incredible! You are a legend! This is brilliant!”

He said the timing of the win “couldn’t be better”.

“It’s legendary! It’s certainly very welcomed. It’s been a hell of a year, so it really is fantastic.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke had one thing on his mind.

“It will alleviate a lot of pressure,” he shared.

“I’d like to do some travelling as well. I will do some trips around Australia for now and then when we can, it would be nice to do some travelling overseas too.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry of four random numbers from thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

In 2020, 141 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $48.61 million.

During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by an Ermington woman who a Mega Jackpot prize of $11.73 million in January.

Last financial year, Australia’s Official Lotteries contributed more than $1.4 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
