Woman hospitalised after crash

A woman has been hospitalised following a crash on the Princes Freeway at Longwarry.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision at the Sand Road intersection just before 11.30am on Thursday 14 January.

Initial reports suggested that a person was trapped, prompting CFA and SES volunteers to be called out however they were eventually turned away.

One CFA vehicle, from Longwarry, attended the scene, which was eventually deemed under control within 10 minutes.

Witnesses reportedly told emergency services that “a lot of people” had gathered around the accident scene attempting to help.

A woman in her 60s was taken to Warragul Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the incident haven’t been fully revealed, but the Gazette has been told a truck and a car were involved.
