A man was airlifted to hospital last week after he was reportedly crushed by a cow on a farm in Caldermeade.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said that they were alerted to the incident at about 6.30pm on Tuesday 31 August, and an air ambulance was quickly sent to the farm property.

“A man in his 50s was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital with serious lower body injuries, in a stable condition,” the spokesperson said.

Senior Sergeant Jason Owen from the Pakenham Police said that it appeared that the man had been “hit by a cow” at the property.

“One of the cows has crushed him against a fence by the looks of it,” Snr. Sgt. Owen said.

“He was conveyed to the Alfred in a serious but stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.”

Snr. Sgt. Owen said that Worksafe Victoria would most likely be investigating the incident further.
