A young boy was airlifted to hospital over the weekend after he was hit by a car in Pakenham.

The “school aged” boy (age unknown) was reportedly riding his bicycle along Armidale Drive at about 2pm on Saturday 11 September when he was struck by a vehicle.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said that the boy had initially been taken via road ambulance to Casey Hospital, but was later airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital for “further treatment”.

“A school aged boy was taken in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries to Casey Hospital,” the spokesperson said.

“He was later flown from Casey Hospital to the Royal Children’s Hospital for further treatment.”

The Gazette reached out to the Royal Children’s Hospital for more information about the boy’s condition, but is still awaiting a response.

More to come.
