Police have charged a 23-year-old local man following an ongoing investigation into the manufacturing and distribution of cloned number plates.
Members from the SD3 Frontline Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at an address in Officer last week, seizing an imitation firearm, cash, a printing press and a computer with templates of cloned plates and template designs to manufacture firearms.
The false plates are allegedly used on vehicles involved in high volume crime and intentional high-risk driving.
The Officer man was charged with driving whilst suspended, making false documents, forgery of documents and possessing imitation firearms.
He was bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates Court on 21 February 2022.
