Pakenham Camera Club currently has a 40-image photographic exhibition on display at the Cardinia Cultural Centre located on Lakeside Boulevard in the Lakeside Estate.

The Cultural Centre currently has eight exhibitions planned for 2022 with each running for an about one month.

James Fischer, the shire council’s coordinator for Arts and Creative Industries, says the facility is available for interested groups, individuals and businesses who meet the criteria of quality, diversity, local relevance and accessibility.

No matter your taste in art or photography there is something here for all to enjoy and appreciate; special effects, land/seascape, portraiture, wildlife, architecture, rural, urban, joy, despair, wonder, macro, still life and intentional in camera movement, it is all here.

Some say photography is part of art, others vehemently disagree but, no matter your viewpoint, both have many facets and off-shoots where the eye and imagination reign supreme. In this exhibition the viewer will appreciate both!

The PCC is fortunate to have several high calibre photographers within its ranks that easily meet national and international standard.

Maria Bastin has a penchant for creative/special effects and intentional in camera movement that some may term kinetic photography.

Several of her images depicting these styles are on view. Linda Brown and Susan Sventek, both multi-talented creators, feature with birdlife, land/seascapes and portraiture. Wayne Gunn with three images on show specializes in photojournalism [bands/music]. Several of his images have become for album covers overtime. All in all the works of eleven club members are represented.

Free and open to the public from 10am to 3pm Tuesday to Sunday the exhibition closes on Sunday 13 February.

For those clubs, individuals or businesses interested in hosting an exhibition, contact the Cultural Centre on 1300 877 624 or ccc@cardinia.vic.gov.au; from time to time there are some grants available that can assist with venue costs.
