The Friday before Valentine’s Day was always going to be a popular date for weddings, but given two years of Covid disruptions, this year there must have been one around every corner.
Take, for example, the small town of Nar Nar Goon.
There were four separate weddings for people with links to the local football and netball club.
Netballer Bridget Scott, the daughter of former football club president Adrian Scott, was married to Phil Johnson, who also pulled on the Goon jersey at one stage.
The same day three former footballers tied the knot – Jackson Fromhold to his bride Dannielle, Sammy Van Der Zalm to the beautiful Bri and Todd Beck to his new wife Lara.
It was a busy day for the close-knit Goon community, with several couples going their separate ways to fly the flag at different weddings.
