Nar Nar Goon Primary School students have learnt about the importance of acceptance and inclusion for people of multicultural backgrounds in an annual Harmony Day event.

Year 6 house captains planned and led a round robin of games and activities for their fellow student children to participate in on Monday 21 March.

The school dressed in orange to represent the day.

At the conclusion of the morning’s games the staff and students all came together as a whole school cohort.

“We celebrated the fact that we all come from different backgrounds and that we all belong,“ principal Frances Van Lambaart said.

“The students spent the day engaged in discussions and reflection in their classrooms focusing on respect, cultural and religious diversity and in fostering a sense of belonging for everyone.

“Our whole school golden rule is to ’treat others as you would like to be treated’ and this Harmony Day celebration reinforces our consistent message of inclusion and kindness towards all.“
