Officer’s Bridgewood Primary School is celebrating the first full semester of on-campus learning without any interruptions or lockdowns as school holidays begins.

The school held a Wellbeing Wednesday to acknowledge the end of Semester One, filled with games, dancing, and lots of food.

Foundation teacher Raina Rydberg said it has been fantastic to have the students back on campus.

“It’s much easier to see exactly what they’re doing when they’re not behind a screen and to guide them and show them exactly what to do,” she said.

“It’s been wonderful to have them here and we’ve been able to achieve so much more with the students at school.”

Students enjoyed taking part in sporting activities, crafts, a school disco and many educational games throughout the day.

Treats were shared in the classrooms including fruit, donuts and cupcakes.

Principal Kerry Coffey said it was a great day to celebrate the students achievements over the past two terms.

“We’re really pleased to have been able to have all the children at school for a whole term and I’d like to thank the fabulous staff that we have at Bridgewood who have worked really hard this term,” she said.

“I’d really like to thank the children who have been turning up as best they can every day and also to all the mums and dads in the community for their continued support – it’s been a tricky time but at least we had a lovely celebratory day today.

“We hope everybody has a great holiday and fingers crossed that term three is even better than term one and two.”

The Wellbeing Wednesday event was held on Wednesday 22 June.
