Community Bank Bunyip and District, in conjunction with the Bunyip Men’s Shed, has presented a new reflection chair at Columba Primary School.

The presentation of the chair on Friday 18 November coincided with Grandparents’ Day.

The chair’s purpose is for pupils to recognise their fellow students who feel left out or are struggling to find kids to play with.

It will also provide a safe place for like-minded students who may be less inclined to play in larger groups.

Chair of the Community Bank Bunyip and District, Barry Crees, outlined how the collaborative approach was undertaken and in delivering the new chair, its outcomes.

The purpose of Bendigo Bank is to redistribute funds back into the district, and this project showcases what can be achieved when community groups come together for a common cause.

The Bunyip Men’s Shed happily embraced the opportunity to design and construct the chair and understand the importance of what this will create at the school.

Ultimately, the project is bringing older and younger members of the Bunyip community together to achieve an outcome that will be enjoyed by current and future generations of Columba School students for many years to come.
