PROVINCIAL

Ladder leaders Baden Powell asserted their dominance at the top of the ladder with a strong win over Baxter at Overport Park.

Baden Powell put on 244 which was a bridge too far for Baxter to hunt down batting second. Daniel Warwick (73) was the only one who found his feet for the visitors. Baxter was dismissed for 151…losing by 93 runs.

Langwarrin proved too strong for Red Hill running out 50-run victors. Matthew Prosser proved to be the ultimate all-rounder making 71 with the bat and 3/16 with the ball in a match-winning performance.

Sorrento put on their best against Mt Eliza in a four-wicket win. Liam O’Connor (38) helped the Sharks chase down the 122 target with four wickets in hand.

Long Island and Old Peninsula played out a thriller at Ballam Park.

Thomas La Brooy (53) helped the visitors to a 165.

Long Island looked to be in the box seat with Zachery Wilson (50) trying his best to drag his side over the line.

The Visitors falling three runs short after a late order collapse in an agonising defeat.

PENINSULA

Moorooduc and the Pines played out an edge-of-your-seat tie at Moorooduc Recreation Reserve. Moorooduc set the ladder leaders 189 with Oshadha Ariyadasa (65) the best for the Ducks.

Pines opener Damien Lawrence (59) was the cornerstone of the chase, with a wicket falling off the last ball ending the game all squared up at 189 all.

Mornington took home the points as they accounted for Flinders.

Sam Gove (77) was at his best as the Sharks posted 202.

Mornington looked to be in a spot of bother early losing 2/4 but a Zac Garnet 109 saw his side home with six wickets to spare.

Rosebud couldn’t take a trick against Seaford as they fell victim to a Jake Harrington hat-trick. The Tigers chased the 174 runs set for them with one ball to spare, with opener Luke Kranzbuhler (62) playing a telling hand to guide the home side to victory.

Somerville continued their rise to the top accounting for Heatherhill at home. The Hawks batted first and could only manage 163 after their 40 overs.

Somerville would have liked to make the task easier but reached the total with one over to spare. Luke Rowe headed back to the pavilion on 63 not out as he provided the cool head to see his side home.

DISTRICT

Carrum Downs quickly accounted for Hastings after another strong showing from dynamic duo Shane Deal (3/14 ) and Ryan Lynch (3/19) seeing the back of the hosts for 60. Carrum Downs treated the low total with contempt…completing the task in 18 overs.

Frankston YCW was dismissed for 116 by Dromana at Peninsula Reserve. Dromana elected to bat, putting on 192 after a Langer and Hayden-esque opening partnership from Kierran Voelkl (61) and Sam Fowler (57) continued to bolster the score.

Frankston YCW found themselves biding time with Neil Barfuss (42) the highest score of the innings. Dromana found itself searching for a wicket with everyone but the wicket-keeper rolling the arm over.

Carrum proved to be too much for Crib Point as the Lions posted 198 after a Shaun Foster 66 at the top of the order helped post 198.

Crib Point was brave in defeat, falling 46 runs short, with Matthew Blake (68 not out) helping provide some resistance.

Delacombe Park proved to be too good for Main Ridge, with Michael Holmes (49) at the top of the innings helping the Cougars post 159.

SUB DISTRICT

Tyabb made light work of Balnarring after posting 196. The Saints were bundled out for 71, with Malith Chathuranga taking three for zero with two maidens in his two overs as Tyabb prevailed by 125 runs.

Mt Martha defeated Boneo by six wickets in a team performance chasing down the 143 target in 37 overs.

Pearcedale got the job done against Ballam Park at home chasing down 132 set by the Knights.

Sam Frawley found himself back in the groove after going three games without a wicket. He came back in a big way taking 4/21 off his seven overs.

Blake Eklund (63 not out) helped Pearcedale to a nine-wicket win.

Rye faced an in-form Skye and felt the full force of Sibghat Ullah who ran through the Demons taking a very cool 4/20.

Rye could only manage 115 in their chase, falling a gruelling 53 runs short of the total in a forgettable day.

Seaford found themselves on the losing end of a clash against Tootgarook at Truemans Road Reserve.

Seaford could only conjure 103 in their pursuit of the 147 set by the home side. Bobby Parslow found his way to figures of 4/26 as he helped his side to a 44-run victory.

Tootgarook, Seaford and Skye all are tied on points as they continue their fight for top-spot.
