After another crushing victory by Pearcedale on Saturday, it’s hard to recollect a better start to the MPNFL season from the Dales in recent years.
The Dales followed up a brilliant win over Devon Meadows last week with a scintillating win over local rival Tyabb.
Pearcedale led by 15 points at the main break, before an avalanche of goals in the second half saw the Dales take out a 26.10 (166) to 8.14 (62) win.
The Dales kicked 18.6 to 3.7 in the second half, as Cruiz West (four goals) continued his stellar form.
Ryan Bastinac also had plenty of the footy to go with his three majors.
The Dales had 11 individual goal-kickers, with nine of them kicking multiples.
Devon Meadows, meanwhile, bounced back with a strong win over Karingal.
After a slow start by both sides, the Panthers finished the game strong, securing the 12.11 (83) to 4.9 (33) victory.
In other scores across Division 2: Mornington never really looked troubled under lights against Rye, winning 12.12 (84) to 7.13 (55); Hastings claimed a necessary win over Crib Point 14.7 (91) to 11.12 (78); Langwarrin defeated Chelsea 13.11 (89) to 3.4 (22) and Seaford fell to a promising Somerville outfit 12.19 (91) to 8.12 (60).
The top flight offered plenty of fascinating results, as the gauge on where the best sides sit becomes harder and harder by the week.
Dromana knocked off the highly fancied Frankston YCW, 10.12 (72) to 6.10 (46).
Panic will be starting to set in for Bonbeach, which are now 0-2, after suffering a 11.16 (82) to 10.6 (66) defeat to Mt Eliza.
2018 grand final hero Aaron Ludewig booted four in Pines’ 22.17 (149) to 10.11 (71) win over Edithvale-Aspendale.
In the other two matches of the round, Sorrento defeated Frankston Bombers 20.13 (133) to 13.11 (89) and Red Hill smashed Rosebud 14.24 (108) to 3.3 (21).
