What a magnificent sunny day on Saturday for the second and final qualifying round for the 2022 Four-Ball Par Championship.
However the scoring was down compared to last week’s round with the winners being Tym Davey and his partner T Jeffrey whom came in with a round of +11 to be the three shots better than the pairing of Ryan Stark and Jackson Bennett whom got the nod for second on a count back decision from Dean Shannon and Ben Balfour.
A final score of +6 was needed to get a ball down the line.
On Thursday the weather wasn’t quite as kind as Saturday but a field of 53 presented for the day’s play. The consistent Frank Hyett had the day’s best round with an A Grade winning score of 37 points to defeat Darren Allen and Darren Stanton who both had 36 points. Charlie Hardy clocked up another win by winning the B Grade event with a round of 34 points to defeat John Sanderson by one point.
David Thorp got the nod for the C Grade event with a less than impressive score of 33 points defeating Stephen Bird and Graeme Martin by two points. The quarter-finals for next week’s Four-Ball Par match play are as follows:
Match 1: Bob Collins and Doug Amos versus Craig Hunter and Peter McNeish.
Match 2: Peter Glasscock and Graham White versus T Jeffrey and Tym Davey.
Match 3: Mick Jusic and Pat McDonagh versus Ryan Stark and Jackson Bennett.
Match 4: Dean Shannon and Ben Balfour versus Grant McLure and Paul Govaars.
For everyone else next Saturday is a game of single stableford.
