The Ellinbank and District Football League (EDFL) once again had a week of thumpings and disappointing results for fans…with a lack of competitive matches clouding round-eight results.

Catani had another agonising day, suffering a 162-point dismantling at the hands of Buln Buln away from home.

Buln kicked a staggering 28 goals 19 behinds in the monumental victory.

Timothy Stoll kicked seven goals in the onslaught that ensued.

Catani’s Lachlan Free was the only multiple goal-kicker for the Blues, while Nathaniel Rodda and Thomas Keily kicked the other two goals in the second-rate performance.

Buln had 11 individual goal kickers to compound the growing problems for the boys in blue.

The blow-outs didn’t stop there in the league with Ellinbank crushing Nilma Darnum by a staggering 231-points.

Ellinbank’s Mark Vassett kicked 16 goals in the game, which was more than every other team in the competition except for Buln Buln.

Yarragon had a cruisy win over a Longwarry at Dowton Park on a very inaccurate day for both sides.

Longwarry kicked 1.10.16 to Yarragon’s 10.19 79 in the victory.

Neerim South had a 34-point win over Trafalgar at home.

Cat’s Luke Kinder kicked three goals in the gutsy win, while Chris Urie and Tyssen Morrow also fired home singles in the triumph.

Poowong had to fight tooth and nail to overcome Lang Lang away from home.

Poowong eventually prevailing victorious by 23 points.
