Jubilation and hysteria flooded the Catani dressing rooms on Saturday as the Cats prevailed for their first win of the season.

The Blues turned their fortunes around with a nine-point win over Nilma Darnum away from home.

Both Nilma and Catani were looking to secure their first wins of the season.

Catani’s inaccuracy seemed to be the dominant factor throughout the course of the afternoon with the Blues booting 9.13.67 to secure a hard-earned four points.

The adage of sticking fat had finally rung true for Catani members who had to wait 10 rounds to see their side finally sing the song.

Blues Tom Williams and Nathaniel Rodda kicked two goals each in the win.

Neerim South assured their top spot aspirations with a radiant win over Longwarry by 110 points.

Neerim’s Luke Kinder kicking four goals to see his side rocket over the line.

Trafalgar kept knocking and scratching at the heels of ladder-leaders Neerim South with a 117-point demolition of Nyora.

Trafalgar ran in 19.20.134 to claim the four premiership points and a galvanising percentage boost.

Buln Buln and Yarragon played out a dreary spectacle at Downton Park with both sides combining for six goals as Buln crept home by three points.

Ellinbank kept its top four aspirations alive with a gruelling 25-point win over Lang Lang.

Ellinbank’s Shaun Phelan had his compass aligned kicking four goals in the gallant win.

Lang Lang’s Daniel Lewis continued his great form kicking four majors to make it 15 goals in the last month.

The haul comes after Lewis kicked nine against Nyora.
