What a day.
20 members of the South West Gippsland Bowling Group braved the weather and turned up at Kooweerup in the hope of maybe evading the rain and having a game or two of bowls.
Rain it did, but not nonstop, so the group managed to get the full two games in without anyone actually drowning.
And what a fun day we all had.
There was some great banter and lots of laughter from all over the rink.
The green was in pretty good condition, although a few of our members had a bit of trouble mastering the intricacies of the wet rinks.
David did a great job of setting up before we all arrived and George was really appreciated in the bar.
The day was a success for all but as always there are winners for the day.
Winners on 38 points were Tony Heppleston (S), Laurie Bell (3) and Bill Williams (L).
Runners Up on 34 points were Vern Elliott (S), Frank d’Unienville (3), Bev Elliott (2) and Michael Saunders (L).
Best One Game winners on 23 points were John Nicholson (S), Luke Monckton (3) and Chris Brooks (L).
A big thank you to David, Luke and Laurie for cleaning up after everyone had left.
Also, as always, thanks to Peter, Pauline and John for all the work they do.
Next week we will be at Lang Lang so we are looking forward to seeing everyone turn up for another great day of fun, laughter and bowls with really great people.
