The South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling group headed to Lang Lang last week on a beautiful day for the players to show their best.

Like an oasis in the middle of a desert, Thursday was a beautiful warm day surrounded by rather cool to cold and wet days.

Anyway, 27 players turned up to fight it out in our weekly challenge, and what a fight it was.

For the first time ever in our competition – as far as can be confirmed – it was a dead-heat between two teams for the win.

Even on a count back we couldn’t separate the winners.

So, no runners up this week – only winners.

A big thank you to Marianne behind the bar with help from Colin.

Also, a big callout to Vern for all his work, and to Vicki for all her help too.

It is because of people like this, from the local clubs, who are willing to help out, that our Thursdays are so successful.

Also, as always, a big thank you to our regular management team who keep our competition going.

This week’s winners – with both teams on 36 points – were:

John Nicholson (S), Phil Wright (3), Pauline McWilliams (2) and Peter Thorley (L), and they were joined by Tony Heppleston (S), Luke Monckton (3) and Bobby Arnold (L).

Best One Game Winners on 23 points were Denis Talbot (S), David Talbot (3), Gwen Jeffreys (2) and Shirley Corcoran (L).

Next week we will be at Corinella at 10am for a 10:30am start.

We look forward to seeing everyone there.

So, until then, we hope everyone has a Happy Easter and we look forward to seeing everyone safe and sound next week.
