DROUIN GOLF

A field of 117 players contested Saturday’s Stableford competition at Drouin Golf and Country Club.

Kevin Thorpe led A Grade with 36 points, while Tony Piner came in runner up on a countback with 35 points.

B Grade was won by Jack McConville who scored 39 points, one ahead of runner up Pete Daniel who scored 38 points.

Ben Huggett was the winner of C Grade with 38 points and Bruce Salmon finished runner up with 36 points.

D Grade saw the best score for the day with Darren Hayes winning with 42 points.

Byung Chan An was the runner up with 39 points on a countback and Jake Simpson won the Super Six with 15 points.

Down the lines went to Geoff Closter 39, Jensen Cavanagh 36, Basil Bate, Simon Caygill, Rob Frederickson, Rob Christie, Shaun Doak, Paul Carmody, Andrew Anderson, Rick De Jonge, Mark Klaver and Cameron Snell 35, and Marty Green, Zach Bambridge and Joel Thomson with 34 points on a countback.

Target Hole winner on the 4th was Pete Daniel.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Bill Toogood (Commercial Hotel), 8th Cameron Snell (Sharkey’s Barbershop), 10th Phil Mason and 14th Rohan Berkhout (Pro Pin).

The midweek competition last week was Stableford.

In A Grade, Cameron Snell was the winner with 36 points, while Pete Downward finished runner up with 34 points on a countback.

Graham Austin was the winner of B Grade with 39 points and George Shand was runner up with 38 points.

In C Grade, Aaron Parsons won with an incredible score of 46 points with Jim Defoe coming runner up also with an incredible score of 43 points.

The Super Six winner was George King with 15 points.

Down the lines went to Nicholas McDonald 40, Darren Hayes 36, Chris Gardiner and Ron Tomasetti 35, Peter Britchford, Geoff Closter and Fred Dyke 34, and Dale McIntyre, Kevin Johnson and Mark Klaver with 33 points on a countback.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Bob Naismith, 8th John Gidley, 10th Craig Harris and 14th Aaron Parsons.

Jack McConville kept his good form going over the weekend, winning Sunday’s Medley Stableford Competition with 36 points.

Jack Henning won a ball down the line with 35 points.

Upcoming competitions are Stableford midweek and Sunday, with Saturday’s competition a Two-Person Stableford Aggregate incorporating the first round of the Stroud Trophy.

DROUIN LADIES

Drouin Ladies played for the June Monthly Medal in a Stroke event on Tuesday 4 June.

Division 1 winner was Sharon Rippon (14) with 77 nett and runner up was Glenda Warren (20) with 80 nett.

Division 2 winner was Michelle Fairlie (26) with 75 nett and runner up was Val Crow (29) with 76 nett.

Congratulations to the winner of the June Monthly Medal, Michelle Fairlie.

Down the line balls went to Marg Rowe and Angela Greenall and Best Scratch score went to Shirley Roberts and Sharon Rippon, both with 91 off the stick.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Leanne Pollard, 8th (2nd shot) Michelle Fairlie, 10th Glenda Warren and 14th Val Crow.

Saturday June 1 was an Individual Stroke event for the Ladies.

The winner was Ciara Davies (24) with 81 nett.

This week is the Doris Chambers Stableford Foursomes event and June 18 is a Three-Person Ambrose event.

These events will be followed by an Individual Stableford event on June 25.
