TigerSharks make a big splash

THE BOYS (and girl) were back in the pool in a big way over the weekend as the Casey TigerSharks brought back a bounty of medals from the Swimming Victoria Short Course Age Championships.
Held at MSAC, the meet was dominated by the TigerSharks’ male swimmers as Bowen Gough, Shaun Banzon, Nick Galileos, Kyle Young and Matthew Faoro claimed multiple medals.
Gough brought back three gold medals in the under-16 boy’s 200m butterfly, 100m and 200m backstroke and claimed a silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 200m individual medley.
Berwick’s Shaun Banzon earned a pair of championship titles in the under-15 boys 100m individual medley and 200m freestyle while picking up silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 100m backstroke.
Nick Galileos earned his gold in the under-15 200m individual medley and silver in the 200m butterfly.
Kyle Young and Matt Faoro claimed multiple silver and bronze medals each as Young picked up four medals and Faoro a pair.
The only TigerSharks’ female to pick up a medal was Jessica Faoro, earning bronze in the 15-18 girls 400m freestyle.
The TigerSharks finished the meet fourth overall behind Melbourne VicCentre, Nunawading and MLC Aquatic.
