A FORMER Pakenham man is among dozens of Victorians missing in earthquake-devastated Nepal and parts of north India.
Bruce Goldsack, 59, from Esperance, is yet to make contact with family, and is listed as missing on the Red Cross website five days after the fatal quake hit.
It is unclear where Mr Goldsack was when the magnitude-7.9 earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday.
His last contact with family was on Saturday 11 April.
He is one of 549 Australians registered as travelling in Nepal at the time of the deadly earthquake which has claimed the lives of more than 5000 people and injured a further 6500.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has so far been in contact with more than 200 Australians.
There are grave fears for dozens who are yet to make contact with family.
The quake caused a number of aftershocks, including a magnitude-6.7 aftershock centred east of Kathmandu, which caused a series of further avalanches on Mount Everest.
At least 17 people died at the mountain’s base camp on Saturday after the first earthquake triggered a massive avalanche.
The Pakenham Gazette tried to contact members of Mr Goldsack’s family but was unable to get in touch.
Information about the status of friends or family in Nepal can be found through the Red Cross website.
