BEACONSFIELD Upper Primary School was the scene of a crime earlier this month – but there was no shortage of detectives ready to catch the crooks.
As part of the Year 5/6 forensic science unit, teachers set up a fictional crime scene in the school stadium complete with various pieces of taped off evidence.
The situation involved the theft of the teachers’ laptops, with the perpetrators demanding that two staff members be handed over in return for them.
Two real life police officers joined the investigation, ready to answer the questions of the young detectives.
Teacher Rebecca Johnson thanked Victoria Police for their participation in the day.
“The kids were in awe as they got to ask these everyday heroes questions about their job,” she said.
“We couldn’t have been more appreciative of Victoria Police for the friendly and approachable members that came out to speak to our kids.”
