Woman killed in Vervale crash

A PAKENHAM South woman was fatally injured and three others were hospitalised after a serious two-car crash in Vervale over the weekend.
Police investigating the circumstances surrounding the horror smash said the driver of the other car came away unharmed.
Before 7.15pm on Saturday 28 November, two cars collided and rolled at the intersection of Bunyip River Road and Thirteen Mile Road in Vervale.
A 32-year-old Pakenham South woman passenger travelling east on Bunyip River Road with three other people died as a result of the collision.
The driver, a 74-year-old man, was taken to Dandenong Hospital.
A 71-year-old female passenger was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with life-threatening injuries while another 42-year-old passenger was taken to Dandenong Hospital by ambulance.
Police confirmed all injured in the fatal crash were from Pakenham South.
The driver of the other car, travelling south on Thirteen Mile Road, was treated at the scene but did not sustain any injuries.
Police said the 39-year-old Kilcunda man was co-operating with police.
The intersection was closed down for some time as police detectives processed the scene.
The fatality takes the state’s road toll to 232 deaths, five more than the same time last year.
