Cat’s standout tale

Darcy's tail pointed toward the sky.

AGE is just a number as the saying goes – and this is amply illustrated in the childlike demeanour of Kane Lovejoy’s confident cat Darcy.
“He’s eight years old; however he doesn’t act that age whatsoever. He still thinks he’s a kitten,” Mr Lovejoy said.
Darcy spends his days patrolling Lovejoy’s Pakenham residence, alternating between dozing in miscellaneous locations and playing with a variety of household items.
“He’s always either lounging on his side in the middle of the floor, or chasing after his favourite toys which consist of bizarre household items like bulldog clips or bread ties,
“He loves to gator roll around and he mumbles to himself. He’s a unique character,” he said.
Though Darcy is fond of solo time, he has no issue with cheekily using his charm to win a favour or two.
“He is quite independent, but he can be very loving, particularly when he wants something,” he said.
Darcy’s trademark feature is his mesmerising tail, which stands upright in the air as he glides around the house.
“His tail has a permanent vertical stance; it’s been like this since he was a kitten. I think it must be his way of making it clear who the boss is.”
“I definitely have no trouble finding him around the house,” he said with a laugh.
