BEACONHILLS College have collected an impressive 6000 cans in their annual canned food drive to donate to local charity 4Cs (Cardinia Combined Churches Caring).
The cans were donated by families involved with the school and students have worked very hard to collect enough cans to really make a difference.
General manager of 4Cs Cheryl Daly said the donation from the school would really help the charity provide for those in need.
“The demand for food assistance is increasing, and we have been very low on canned items – in fact our cupboards were running on empty,” she said.
“Six thousand cans is an incredible effort and will make such a difference to the lives of individuals and families in need in the Cardinia Shire over the winter months.”
4Cs Charity provides food for this in the community who have become marginalised and are in distress over the winter period.
Ms Daly congratulated the school and said they should be very proud of their efforts.
“Well done Beaconhills College community!”
“You have done and will continue to make a vital difference to the lives of those within our community experiencing hardship, crisis or distress,” she said.
