Brace for wild weather

By Alana Mitchelson

A SEVERE weather warning has been issued across the state, with damaging winds expected to sweep parts of West and South Gippsland tomorrow (Thursday, 8 December).
Winds are expected to strengthen on Thursday afternoon ahead of a strong cold front.
Damaging winds averaging 40 to 60 km/h, with peak gusts of about 90 km/h, are expected to develop; particularly over elevated areas where gusts may reach up to 110 km/h.
The SES has advised that people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees, keep clear of fallen powerlines, and secure or put away loose items around the house, yard and balcony.
