Alfresco art goes down well

Gillian Ronald at the Art in the Garden event.

Sunny weather brought the crowds to the recent Art in the Garden weekend.
Tom and Madge Slattery opened up their Pakenham home and garden for the annual event, with all proceeds supporting the growth of the local art scene.
Artists from across the shire hosted public demonstrations among the plants in techniques including scratchboard, printing, jewellery making, painting and basket weaving.
Attendees also enjoyed the annual Mad Hatters Tea Party featuring tea and sandwiches in the heart of the garden.
Event co-ordinator Jillian Ronald said she was very pleased with the turnout with people coming as far as the city.
She thanked the Slatterys for “generously sharing their amazing garden with us all.”
“It is a unique and wonderful treasure right here in the middle of Pakenham,” Ms Ronald said.
All money raised from the weekend goes to the Cardinia Art Society.
