All smiles for Irish at Pakenham Show

THE MCALEER School of Irish Dance will be performing their Michael Flatley inspired routines at the Pakenham Show on 20 March.
Owner of the dance school, Fiona McAleer-Holmes said the students would perform a range of different dances, both traditional as well as team, and concert dances that would have elements of Lord of the Dance and Riverdance.
“They’re very excited as they’ve never performed at the Show before,” said Ms McAleer-Holmes of her students.
The dance school is also hoping to attract some new students to the school through their performances and will be handing out flyers.
Ms McAleer-Holmes says that there were a lot of people of Irish background in Pakenham who would probably have more of an interest in joining the dance school, though everyone was welcome.
“The difference is, it’s like no other dance form as it’s focused on the legs down,” said Ms McAleer-Holmes.
The McAleer dance school will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day three days before the Pakenham Show and is hoping that the Irish celebration continues for their performance at the Show.
