Couple with style

PETER and Nicha Haslock are this year’s Best Dressed Couple.
The husband and wife team from Carlton said it was third time lucky for them to win the Fashions on the Field event at the Devine Communities Pakenham Cup Day on Sunday.
“We have entered it three times and finally won,” Mr Haslock said.
The couple spent a week co-ordinating their matching black and dusty pink outfits after purchasing Mrs Haslock’s top from an opportunity shop.
“We then made the knee-length skirt and tie to match the top,” Mr Haslock said.
Mrs Haslock’s hat was created in Bali. Fashions on the Field judge John Wallin from Bonny and Clyde’s Urban Wear said even though numbers were down in the category, the quality was high.
Mr Haslock said he was pleased to take home the title.
“I’m really happy for my wife,” he said.
The pair competed against five other couples in the competition.
The judges also gave a special mention to Catherine and Daniel Smit from Pakenham.
Mrs Smit, who was wearing a cream and citrus green number while her husband wore a black suit with a matching green tie, celebrated her birthday on the day.
