Free swine flu injection

CARDINIA Shire Council is holding two immunisation sessions at the Cardinia Cultural Centre for residents to receive a free swine flu vaccination.
Immunisation Session 1 – Monday 10 May 2010, 5–7 pm, Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham. Immunisation Session 2 – Wednesday 19 May 2010, 5–7 pm, Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham.
Adults and children over 10 can only be immunised. If parents would like to have children less than 10 years of age vaccinated, they are required to see their doctor.
Council’s acting general manager Assets and Services, Paul Healy, said the Victorian Government has provided funding for a number of Swine Flu vaccinations to be offered to the community for free.
Residents can contact council on 1300 787 624 to make an appointment. The vaccine will only immunise against swine flu and will not protect against the seasonal flu virus.
