RSL boss in retreat

By Melissa Meehan
PAKENHAM RSL President Ray Caldwell has tendered his resignation from the top job, after division within the club.
Mr Caldwell said he had handed in his resignation to club secretary Thelma Wakelin on Friday, but she had refused to formally accept it.
It is believed that Mr Caldwell will hold an extraordinary meeting of the club, which will decide his fate.
Mr Caldwell said it was a sad decision, but that after all the hard work he was tired of fighting against his members rather than with them.
He will continue his association with the organisation through the Caulfield RSL branch and attend monthly meetings with the Returned Services Association (for New Zealand ex-servicemen).
