CHEEZEL rings were exchanged at a wedding themed charity dinner in Iona last weekend.
It was a full house at the Little Road Chapel on Saturday night when Joanne Arrowsmith, along with Alison and Matthew Eno, hosted the three course dinner to raise money for Heart Kids.
Almost everything was donated, from table scatters to catering staff, and the DJ, who gave their time for the cause.
Attendees heard personal stories from Heart Kids Ambassador Christian Williams and Joanne Arrowsmith spoke about her experience of being the mother of William, who was born with a heart condition.
Fifteen couples then renewed their vows, with all men promising to lift the toilet seat and the women promising to surrender their share of the blanket.
The Cheezel rings were then blessed by Father Ronald – before being exchanged by the couples. About $6000 was raised on the night, the money going towards much needed research.
Ms Eno said everyone dressed for the occasion, someone even arriving dressed as the wedding cake, another dressed as the bridal bouquet.
“We would like to thank all those who came and willingly gave up their time to help such a fantastic cause,” she said.
