Lang Lang

IT was a mixed result for the ‘Swamp Tigers’ on the weekend, with only half a game played in sub-district. The second XI had a good win against Officer and all junior teams enjoyed their respective games.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:FIRST XI

PLAYING St. Francis Xavier away, Lang Lang bowled first and it wasn’t long before wickets started falling. The Lang Lang opening pair of Alan Jenkins and Brodie Brown had the opposition in trouble at 4/22. The wet ball hampered the bowler’s run-ups, but they kept plugging away through Rogan Fraser and Aaron Creasey, who claimed wickets. When rain stopped play, the home team had recovered to be 8/147. The match ended in a draw.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SECOND XI

LANG Lang resumed at 2/35, needing only a further eight runs for victory against Officer. Opening bat Mark Hutchinson played well for his 42 in his first game back for the club. David Clay made a quickfire 16 while Harry Wykes – who made 11 – anchored the innings as wickets fell around him. Lang Lang were dismissed for 110, holding a lead of 68. Rain eventually stopped play, but Lang Lang took the points and they remain undefeated.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

PLAYING Cardinia at home, Lang Lang batted first and were dismissed for 56, with Josh Bethune top scoring with 18. He was supported by Jake Caddell and all rounder Tom Brickwood. At stumps, Cardinia were 2/47 with Mark Yanz and Josh Bethune claiming a wicket each. Clint Adderely took the catch of the season and Lachlan Bethune was brilliant in the field.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13 WHITE

PLAYING Merinda Park, the opposition batted first and were all out for 42 with Jackson Tribuzi, Dillon Diehl, Jacob Pringle, Tom Dywer and Mitch Virtue bowling well. The coach was most pleased with a first-class effort in the field. At stumps, Lang Lang are 0/11with Hayden and Dillon Diehl being the not out batsmen.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13 BLUE

PLAYING a strong Kooweerup team, Lang Lang could only make 15 with Max De Longville and Dan Kelly top scoring. At stumps, the opposition are two wickets down, thanks to Sam Mascadri and Kirtis Smythe each chipping in with a wicket.

PLAYERS and supporters are reminded the Lang Lang indoor training centre will open on Sunday 21 November. The annual casino trip will be held the following Sunday and the cost is $40 per person, which includes bus fare and meal. The bus leaves Lang Lang at 10am and departs the casino at 5pm for the return trip.
