THE mother of a Pakenham teen killed in a car crash earlier this year has thanked her son’s friends, teachers and workmates for their support.

Mala Ahmady said her life changed forever on Friday 18 June when her son, Osman, was killed in a car crash in Nyora.
The popular 20-year-old was driving home from a late shift at Leongatha KFC.
“I call it the darkest night of my life. It was like a strong wind ripping through my family and taking a part of my body with it and making me disabled forever,” Ms Ahmady said.
“Osman was my sunshine; since he was born I felt I am the luckiest mother in the world. I raised him with love, respect and dignity. We miss him every single day.”
Ms Ahmady said that she and her other children were still grieving Osman’s death.
On Thursday, her first birthday without Osman, she went to the cemetery to sit with him.
“I pray that no mother go through what I did,” she said.
“That tragic night two police officers knocked at my door and when I saw them my heart jumped badly, I didn’t know what happened; I was waiting for my son Ozzy to get home from work. Instead there were two police officers at my door.”
Ms Ahmady thanked the police officers, who stayed with her until family and friends arrived.
“It is not easy for them to carry bad news to families. It was my dream to see my son with blue uniform to protect others, it was his dream to become a police officer, but unfortunately he was taken too soon.
“On behalf of my family and myself I would like to thank Ozzy’s wonderful friends, teachers, principal, work colleagues and my friends and family for their tributes, cards, flowers, condolences, including the photos posted on facebook, with their heartfelt messages.
“I am really proud of my special baby boy Osman and his wonderful friends for being with us at that difficult time. You will never know how much this meant to myself and my family.”
