Town’s future up for discussion

BEACONSFIELD residents can help shape the future of their town by offering feedback on the Beaconsfield Structure Plan on Thursday 2 December.
Cardinia Shire Council will host an information session at the Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre, in O’Neil Road.
This session is the first in a series which allow residents to contribute feedback and ideas on Beaconsfield’s future.
Residents are encouraged to attend either of two sessions, at 2pm or 7.30pm.
The sessions are designed to run for half an hour each with additional time for questions.
Residents will be informed about the project’s purpose, timelines, and future public engagement sessions.
A short survey will also be available to residents for completion at the end of each session.
Cardinia Shire Council’s strategic planning manager John Holland said the council wanted to inform the community of the project and what it meant for the town’s future.
“We want to understand the community’s view on issues and opportunities in future community engagement workshops,” he said.
“These will run over the entire length of the project in which both the council and the community stakeholders will be involved.”
Information provided by the community will influence the development, recommendations, and actions that will form the structure plan.
The plan will replace the current Beaconsfield Township Strategy and will be reviewed every five years to ensure the vision and direction for the town is being implemented.
