Hardy’s to the rescue

A PAKENHAM business has been humbled by support after its truck and tools were stolen from its factory last week.
The E&J Joinery was broken into around 1.30am on Thursday and a locked truck was stolen from the property.
Owner Cheryl Joosten said the workers had arrived back late from a job and locked the tools into the back of the truck overnight.
“The truck was parked down the side and it had the boys’ tools in the back of it,” Mrs Joosten said.
“They took the truck and rammed the factory gates and then left with our truck, the boys’ tools and some of our tools as well.”
“We just feel for the boys who lost their toys because they were their own tools.”
Erick Joosten dropped into Hardy’s Mitre 10 to replace the tools and was humbled by the support shown by Matt Hardy.
“He just said to get the boys to go in and pick what they want and we can do a deal,” Mrs Joosten said.
“People are very good.”
A friend has also lent the couple a van so they can continue trading.
Mrs Joosten said police had told them the truck was also used in a ram raid in Kooweerup and there have been a number of similar robberies in the Pakenham area.
“I want people to be aware of what is going on because I didn’t realise people were going around doing this as much as they are,” she said.
“It is the first time we’ve had anything like that happen and people need to be aware.”
Anyone with information about this or any other theft should contact Pakenham police station on 5945 2500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
