Petrol pumps run dry

Bowsers were out of action at BP in Officer.107517_01

SERVICE stations across the district are starting to run low on petrol as the fuel transport crisis starts to spread.
The major BP freeway outlets at Officer were both without unleaded petrol yesterday, having run out of the popular fuel in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Shell Lakeside also had empty tanks by Tuesday morning.
A fiery accident involving a Cootes Transport tanker, which contracts to deliver fuel for most of the major petrol companies, saw the company forced to withdraw its fleet from service.
Supplies are expected to be replenished soon, with tankers set to be put back on the road.
