SOME mysteries are buried so deep that they remain uncovered forever, and this may have been the case for Kylie’s bracelet if it wasn’t for Theo’s metal detector.
Last month Nar Nar Goon’s Theo Vandeligt, a hobby prospector, came across what appeared to be a young woman’s bracelet buried deep in the grounds of the Nar Nar Goon Football Oval.
The bracelet read, Happy Birthday Kylie, and on the other side was engraved with Great Grandmother and the date 6 September 1986.
Theo found the bracelet about a month ago and said given how deep it was buried, he opined that it might have been underground for as long as 20 years.
“It’s been there for a while,” he said.
Mr Vandeligt has no clue who its owner may be, but would like to see it returned to ‘Kylie.’
“It would be nice to see it returned to whoever lost it – it’s no good to me.
“Mr Vandeligt has been metal detecting for around eight years and said he has had some interesting finds in his time.
In addition to holding the bracelet, he is also in possession of what looks like a male’s ring, which he also found at the Nar Nar Goon oval.
