FOUL play was ruled out last week after a 20-year-old man was found dying in a Pakenham street.
On Wednesday morning, Homicide Squad detectives were piecing together the last movements of the man who was found by a passer-by about 10pm on Tuesday.
Police and ambulance officers were called to Kosta Boda Boulevard in the Fallingwater Estate off Irving Road after a motorist found him lying in the middle of the road.
By Wednesday afternoon, investigators had received the results from the post-mortem and the Homicide Squad had bowed out of the investigation and ruled out any foul play.
An RIP Facebook page has been set up to pay tribute to the young man.
Media reports suggested that he had stopped to help a motorist whose car had broken down before he collapsed when his heart failed.
Investigators believe he had a congenital heart condition following the release of the post-mortem.
Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
