IT’S a change of scenery for Cardinia Shire Council which is moving to Officer.
The move to the new civic centre at 20 Siding Avenue, Officer, will integrate all indoor staff and is expected to improve efficiency, customer service and community access.
“There is not only the efficiencies and improvements to service delivery that will come as a result of council’s staff all being under the same roof, this move will also underpin a new phase in the growth and development of Officer and invite a surge in economic investment in the area,” Mayor Graeme Moore said of the move, which is due to take place on Monday 17 November.
The new office, a short walk from Officer Railway Station, will allow the community to better engage with the council.
“Serving the needs of our growing community while maintaining the unique characteristics of our shire will continue to be the council’s top priority and we will be able to do this much more effectively from our new offices.
“Residents and ratepayers can look forward to a range of improvements as a result of the move, both from a cost-efficiency and customer service perspective,” Cr Moore said.
He said council services will continue as usual.
“Importantly, there will be no disruption to service delivery during the relocation and we are working to ensure the move will be as seamless as possible for residents and staff,” he said.
The council hopes the soon-to-be former offices on Henty Way, Pakenham, will remain an asset for the community, potentially as a health or education hub.
