TRIPLE Paralympic Gold Medallist Kurt Fearnley is set to inspire guests at the Casey Cardinia business breakfast next week.
Kurt, who is a proven winner on and off the field, will motivate local business owners as he speaks at the Cardinia Cultural Centre from 7-9am on Wednesday 19 November.
“These breakfasts are a great opportunity to network with other businesses in the Casey Cardinia region. The guest speakers, like Kurt, can provide some valuable motivation to local business operators, or anyone looking for a little bit of inspiration,” Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Graeme Moore said.
“Kurt has a fantastic and infectious attitude. I have no doubt that his passion for life will inspire everyone at the business breakfast next month.”
The 33-year-old paralympian was born without the lower portion of his spine but has achieved much more than most able bodied people such as crawling along the Great Wall of China and sailing with the winning Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race crew in 2011.
Winning more than half of the 54 marathons he had competed in, Kurt has been named Commonwealth Athlete of the Year with a Disability and the 2009 NSW Young Australian of the Year.Kurt is also an ambassador of the Day of Difference Foundation, International Day of People with a Disability and a board member of Australian Volunteers International.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Geoff Ablett said hearing about Kurt’s many successes and challenges is bound to inspire local business owners. “The regional business breakfasts provide a wonderful opportunity for local operators to take a break from the day-to-day pressures of running a business and be inspired to think about where they can take their business,” Cr Ablett said.
