Landcare pledge on election eve

A NEW urban Landcare initiative in Gembrook providing more than $150,000 will be established if the Coalition is re-elected at this Saturday’s State Election.
Ten Landcare groups, including Toomuc Landcare Group, Upper Beaconsfield Conservations Group, John Hills Landcare Group, Earth Culture Exchange, Friends of Bunyip State Park, Friends of Cardinia Cree Sanctuary, Pakenham Farm Tree Group, Cardinia Hills Ragwort and Landcare Group, Friends of Wright Forest and Cardinia Catchment Landcare Group, will receive $15,000 to protect and enhance the local environment.
“Our local area will also benefit from a further investment in Victorian Landcare’s Tree Project and the Threatened Bird Network that will each receive a further $80,000 in funding,” Member for Gembrook Brad Battin said.
