A FULL course of 120 players enjoyed Upper Beaconsfield’s golf green for charity last week.
The Golf Challenge was held at the Cardinia Beaconhills Golf Course from noon on Friday 21 November and helped raised over $30,000 for Pakenham welfare group 4Cs.
“The fund-raising committee and 4Cs management would like to thank everyone that participated, contributed and donated towards the fund-raising event,” said operations manager Abiola Ajetomobi.
Major sponsors from Todd Divine, Alex Scott Real Estate and Pakenham Racing Club were among several local businesses that helped chip in for the annual event which carried a powerful community message.
“Their impact and involvement at the fund-raiser and the money raised would go towards reducing the prevalence of poverty in the Cardinia Shire Community,” Abiola said.
The golf day began after a sausage sizzle lunch followed by 18 holes on the golf course along with a three-course dinner and auction.
Les Twentyman, the founder of youth anti-poverty group 20th Man, was the guest speaker and spoke highly of the Pakenham charity group.
“He also spoke about the need for local businesses and community leaders to get behind 4Cs and collectively create an environment that would be suitable for the generations to come,” Abiola said.
The annual golf event has helped raised more than $100,000 for 4Cs in the past few years.
