Busy time for bridge

IT was a busy and exciting week for Berwick Bridge Club.
On Monday 1 December, the group had six tables. Mather Tiplady and Julie Day came first with 65.92 per cent, Micheal Mandeltort and George Ashby came second with 61.48 per cent while Terry Sheafe and Heather Saunders came in third with 56.29 per cent.
On Tuesday 2 December, the club had seven competitive tables. First for North/South was Michelle Leach and S. Hill with 56.84 per cent and second for North/South was Joyce Garton and Lyn Jacobs with 55.65 per cent.
During the same game, Michael Mandeltort and Robert Morley came first for East/West with 61.60 per cent while Jim Dow and Lorraine Chapman came second with 58.33 per cent.
On Wednesday 3 December, the club played with nine tables. First for North/South was Shirley Collins and Maggie Callander with 70.60 per cent and second for North/South Bert Romeijn and Julie Day with 57.40 per cent.
For East/West, A. Hawkins and D. Hawkins came first with 65.74 per cent while Dianne Nicol and Steven Thorne came second with 62.03 per cent.
