PAKENHAM Probus Club handed over funds to a local op shop which has raised more than $100,000 for the community this year.
The club gifted $257 to Pakenham Op Shop president Mary Nugent ahead of the busy Christmas season.
The club had its final meeting of the year on Friday 5 December where President Lyn Stephenson had the pleasure of inducting Lesley Alkemade as well as presenting Saxon Brooke with her 25-year pin.
Henry Law from Outlook Community Centre, Pakenham, gave members a crash course in computers and told them it was time to get online.
“He explained that in five years’ time cheques will not exist. Everyone will pay their bills online or by phone. Other things that are taught include getting photos off cameras into the computer and printing them out,” publicity officer Lyn Cox said.
The December meeting was followed with a joy-filled Christmas lunch at the Railway Hotel in Pakenham.
The club will hold its next meeting at the Bowls Club at 10am on Friday 6 February.
