THE Upper Beaconsfield Village Festival was another great success, drawing a record attendance for its famous 6km Tower Challenge with almost 250 competitors, including councillors Tania Baxter and Brett Owen, who pushed a pram during his run.
Beaconsfield Upper Primary School won the biggest group participation prize of $500. Recognised for over 30 years of service to the CFA, Wendy Thompson was named as the festival’s Citizen of the Year.
“The atmosphere was fantastic,“ festival co-ordinator Janet Cathie said.
“The art exhibition was remarkable, with many commenting on the amazing artwork displayed.”
